I’m getting ready to go back to classes in a couple weeks and, being the covetous fashion-obsessed college co-ed that I am, I’m thinking the standard collegiate Longchamp needs to be retired (at least for a couple weeks!) and a fashionable – maybe a little wild – tote needs to be introduced to campus. Color of The Week: Violet

In my high school Art History class, my favorite teacher taught us that purple always symbolizes royalty or wealth…which is exactly why I started wearing so much purple in high school! Purple is also my go-to eyeshadow color – it’s the best for making gorgeous and irresistible hazel eyes like mine pop.

Obviously I’m overcompensating right now. But I’ve come across a lot of great purple – or, the more trendy version of purple: violet – pieces this week and I’m so excited to share them with you!

Okay, I’ll admit, I only just now realized that this was a slap watch. Now, normally I would have written this piece off immediately because I think slap watches are just weird. But I fell in love with the color of this watch weeks ago and have been dying to share it with you. So I’m letting the slap watch slide JUST this time. But next time, I won’t go so easy on the trend – if you can even call it that…

I honestly wasn’t sure about this one at first. At first glance, it’s totally not my style. But then I started to picture it paired with a ton of other bracelets and – once again – I was in arm party heaven. Don’t forget, creating the perfect arm party is still my goal for August…
